If you are honestly wriroed that this dog is a danger, find a new vet and have the dog put to sleep. You could also try contacting the rescue you got the dog from and see if they will take the dog back or if they have any recommendations. If you do not have the dog put to sleep, you will have to manage the dog for the rest of it's life. The dog should wear a muzzle (a basket muzzle is the best kind to use) when out in public, and the dog needs to be put in another room when guests come over. The dog should never be left alone in the backyard at any time either. However, I am having a hard time grasping exactly why this dog is aggressive and in what situations? I mean, the dog went to obedience classes and you let your child walk the dog which leads me to believe that the dog is fine with people in public. Maybe this dog is protective of your home and yard and that is why he has attacked or tried to attack people who enter your home/yard. Maybe the dog also just does not like young children from past experience or was never around them. If these are the problems your dog has you could easily manage this aggression by keeping him away from people who enter your home and yard.References :
